Wanna Be a Popstar? Approximately 1,400 wanna-be pop stars showed up for the Los Angeles auditions of "Popstars2" Friday (June 15), according to a WB spokesperson. For those who couldn't make it, don't worry, there are still plenty of opportunities to make your pop dreams come true.
This time, both girls and boys can audition in front of 123 Records executive Jaymes Foster-Levy as well as choreographer Tony Michaels and music producer Brad Daymond, who has worked with Britney Spears and *NSync. If you want to start practicing, songs to be used in the auditions are "I'm Like a Bird" by Nelly Furtado, "Come On Over" by Christina Aguilera and "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child for the girls, as well as "Bye Bye Bye" by *N Sync, "I Wanna Know" by Joe and "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker for the boys.
The next audition will be held in San Francisco next Wednesday (June 19). Additional audition will be held in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Miami (see below for more information). You must be 18-25 to attend. The first 200 guys and 200 girls to show up are guaranteed an audition, which includes both singing and dancing.
In addition, those auditioning are encouraged bring any musical instruments they can play. "Popstars" will return to The WB this fall on Thursdays at 8 p.m. Here are the locations for the auditions:
